Digital library's inauguration with 70,000 e books

Bhopal: The city readers are in for a treat as the new service of
e-library was launched on Friday. The city’s very own digital library
was introduced with a collection of 70,000 e-books and 15,000
magazines.

The e-library has been launched by the British Council in association
with Swami Vivekananda Library. The digital library offers all
possible subjects under popular reading sections.

With the availability of 70,000 e-books and 15,000 magazines, the
online portal aims to cater readers from all age groups. The digital
library will also be connected with all major and popular publishing
houses across the world.

The British Council, in accordance to the increasing demand of
e-books, has launched e-library in Delhi, Pune and other cities of the
country. The manager of digital library, Laxmisharan Mishra, claims
that it is India’s biggest library in popular reading.

Demonstration to choose membership

The executives of British Council will be deployed at their office in
the city to cater to the membership of the readers on April 7-8.

A demonstration of the e-library including available content will be
made so as to help the customer for the membership.

The British Council executives will also be available from 11 am till
7 pm on the dates mentioned above in order to cater the customer’s
query. The membership fee has been priced at Rs 1,100 per person.
